At least six people were killed and eight other sustained injuries in a bomb explosion targeting a peace committee head in Gamadand area of Sheringal tehsil of Upper Dir district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Sunday, police officials informed. According to police sources, the injured and dead bodies were shifted to District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ) where emergency has been declared. Upper Dir District Police Officer (DPO) said the blast occurred after a funeral prayer in the area. A peace committee head was also killed in the blast.
The KP Chief Minister Mahmood Khan condemned the incident and directed the acceleration of relief operation. He said the targeting of the gathering of innocent people is a cowardice act. He said they fully share the grief of the relatives of the victims.
